Marc Micu is on a perpetual search for uniquity and unfeigned self-expression within the musical core, its complexion, and all in-between. From Victoria BC, Marc is a multi-instrumentalist, educator, composer, arranger, researcher, and advocate for all things music. He has etched his name into BC’s musical realm by dedicating his life to performing a variety of genres in several ensemble formats such as jazz, funk, fusion, art-music, contemporary, ska, reggaeton, indie, orchestra, and pop. Marc has had 8 years of ensemble leadership, dating back from running jazz combos in highschool. Now, Marc is the director and bandleader of his lively funk-fusion band “Marc Micu & Friends” and dynamically eclectic brass quintet “Kasperl Quintet”, both having played sold out shows across BC.

Marc has also worked with musicians and groups such as Brigit O’Regan, Rowan Farintosh, Faustino Diaz, Miguel Valdez, Diploids, TK the Artist, Batuque Axé, the Naden Band, the Alternative Symphony, the Vanity Project, Phigs, Greater Victoria Youth Orchestra, West Coast Soul Collective, and the Victoria Baroque Society. You can find Marc performing at the Capital Ballroom, the International Trumpet Guild, Hermann’s Jazz Club, CFUV 101.9, Victoria’s Reggae and Ska Festival, and the Con Brio Festival as a returning gala performer. Apart from performing regularly, Marc works as a private music educator with young students.
